Dubai visa passport validity: what to check
Passport-validity rules are scoped by traveller and trip. A common visitor rule cannot safely be copied to a resident, airside transit passenger or emergency-document holder.
This page does not cover: a carrier decision, emergency travel documents or individual nationality exceptions.
The date must cover the correct event
Check validity on the planned arrival date, and ask whether the rule is measured from arrival, departure or another event. Then check that the passport used for the application is the one used for travel.
The GDRFA tourist service pages checked for this edition state that the passport should be valid for at least six months. GOV.UK separately scopes its passport guidance to travellers on a full British citizen passport and distinguishes visitors, UAE residents and airside transit.

Before applying
- Check the biographical page is legible and undamaged.
- Make sure names and document number will be entered exactly.
- Check there is enough validity for the exact route.
- Ask how an already-submitted application is handled after passport renewal.
- Do not alter a scan or crop away required edges/details.
When to stop and ask
Contact the operating airline and competent authority if validity is close to the threshold, the passport is damaged, the application used a replaced passport, or different official pages appear to apply. A website summary cannot compel boarding or entry.
