Dubai visit visa extension: what to verify

Start from the existing record

• Exact visa/entry-permit type
• Issuing authority: GDRFA Dubai or ICP
• Sponsor or application provider
• Entry date and official permitted-until date
• Previous extensions or status changes
• Passport validity and travel constraints

Ask these questions before paying

1. Is this exact permission currently eligible for extension?
2. Who is authorised to submit the request?
3. What is the complete fee and which parts are refundable?
4. When must the request be received and when does the new period begin?
5. How will approval and the new official date be evidenced?
6. What should the traveller do if the request is still pending near expiry?

Do not assume a grace period

General articles can be outdated or apply to a different visa/status. Use the official record and obtain written direction before the current permission ends. A submitted request is not the same as an approved extension.

If the person may already be out of status, stop using a planning calculator and contact the relevant authority or a qualified adviser promptly.

Travel can affect the route

Leaving and re-entering is not interchangeable with an extension. A single-entry permission may be consumed on exit, and a new entry still depends on valid permission and border/carrier checks. Compare the intended movement with the current document before changing flights.
