Apply for a Dubai visa

The right application route depends on the service and who is eligible to handle it. Start with eligibility, then prepare only the documents and fees for that route.

Build the application around the route

A Dubai visa application is not a single form shared by every traveller. The route can depend on the passport used for travel, trip purpose, visa product, issuing emirate and the organisation allowed to handle that product. An airline may require an eligible flight booking. A hotel or licensed travel agent may apply only for customers who meet its own conditions. A sponsor-led service has a different evidence chain again.

Start by writing down the exact trip and the passport that will be presented. Confirm whether advance permission is required before comparing products. Then identify the handler, obtain its current document list and record every part of the price. This order prevents a polished advert or cheap headline fee from deciding the wrong route.

Keep a small evidence record as the application moves: the service name, source URL, provider, quote, date submitted and authority reference. When two instructions conflict, that record makes it possible to ask a precise question. Do not solve a mismatch by quietly changing an answer or document to fit the form. Ask the handler which rule applies.

After issue, compare the permission with the passport and itinerary. Approval of the wrong name, document number, entry count or date is not a harmless detail. Contact the handler promptly and keep its written correction instructions.

Checks that prevent the common mistakes

  • Match the traveller's passport, not country of residence or departure airport, to the eligibility rule.
  • Confirm the purpose, entry count and permitted stay before choosing a product name.
  • Ask for a written total showing government charges, VAT, provider fees and refundable deposits separately.
  • Check names, passport number, travel dates and the issued permission before departure; correction after issue may involve time and cost.
