Passport guide
Dubai visa for Pakistani citizens: verify first
This site does not publish a home-made eligibility list for Pakistani passports. Start with the official UAE checker and the operating airline. Emirates currently lists a national identity card among extra documents that can be required when the traveller lives in Pakistan.
This page does not cover: a guarantee of approval, a claim that Pakistan is banned or unrestricted, or work or residence advice.
Why this page stays conservative
The UAE Government's eligibility overview says some nationalities receive permission on arrival and others must apply in advance, and that those lists can change. It tells travellers to check with the UAE embassy in their country. We have not found a Pakistani government travel-advice page that states a specific UAE stay length the way GOV.UK does for British citizen passports.
Commercial sites often say there is no visa on arrival for Pakistani passports. That may match many travellers' experience, but it is not a sentence we will treat as an official UAE rule unless an authority page says so. Your action is to verify the live official list and the airline's boarding rule for the ticket you hold.
Two working hypotheses, not decisions
| Hypothesis | When to investigate it | How to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Advance tourist or visit permission | The official checker or airline says permission is required before travel | Use a named GDRFA, ICP, airline or licensed-provider channel |
| A documented exception | You hold another country's visa or residence that a current official or airline page names | Match document type, issuer and remaining validity; do not rely on 'UK resident' shorthand |
Residence in the UAE, the UK, the Gulf or elsewhere does not rewrite the travelling passport. Keep citizenship, passport class and any second document on separate lines.
Airline operational extra
Emirates' UAE visa information, checked as operational guidance, lists a national identity card among additional documents that may be required for visitors from some countries of residence, and names Pakistan on that list. That is a carrier document check, not an immigration approval.
Ask the operating airline, which may not be Emirates, whether it currently wants a CNIC or other identity evidence in addition to the passport. Carry what the airline names. Do not send identity-card images to this website.
How to choose a channel
- Prefer a UAE government portal or a licensed airline or agency you can identify.
- Refuse payment to a personal account or a site that will not name its licence.
- Save the exact visa type, entries and duration in writing before paying.
- Keep government fee, VAT, insurance and service charge on separate lines.
- Use GDRFA or ICP for official status, not only a WhatsApp tick.
Verification sequence
- Open the current UAE 'do you need a visa' page.
- Ask the operating airline for boarding-document requirements for a Pakistani passport on your dates.
- If a second visa or residence might create an exception, confirm that exact document on an official or airline page.
- If advance permission is required, pick a verified channel and reconcile its document list.
- Prepare a passport copy, photograph and any identity evidence the handler currently names.
- After issue, check names, dates and entries against the travel document.
