Confirm what actually happened

1. Ask the provider for the official application reference and issuing authority.
2. Distinguish a provider declining to submit from an authority refusing an application.
3. Use the matching GDRFA or ICP status route.
4. Request any reason or correction process that can lawfully be shared.
5. Keep dated copies of the application, payment terms and response.

Check for factual mismatch

• Name order, spelling and date of birth
• Passport number, issue/expiry date and nationality
• Duplicate or unresolved earlier application
• Sponsor/provider and visa type
• Photograph/document quality
• Travel dates, entry count and purpose

Money and reapplication

Read the signed refund terms and separate non-refundable government processing from refundable deposits or provider promises. Do not assume that refusal automatically creates a refund - or that nothing is refundable.

Before reapplying, identify what has materially changed or been corrected. A new fee paid through a different agent does not remove an unresolved record.

Red flags after refusal

• A stranger promises approval for an extra cash payment.
• An agent refuses to name the issuing authority or provide a reference.
• Someone asks you to falsify accommodation, employment or bank evidence.
• A provider claims it can erase immigration history.
• Urgency is used to prevent you reading the new terms.

When to obtain individual help

Seek the authority or a suitably qualified professional if the case involves an overstay, removal/deportation, travel ban, criminal/civil matter, unresolved residence file, repeated refusal or potentially incorrect identity record.
