UAE work permit
A work permit authorises employment under its recorded conditions. It is connected to, but distinct from, an employment contract and residence permission.
The employment sequence
For private-sector employment, the UAE Government describes the process as formal job offer, employment contract, work permit and work residence steps. The employer leads the ordinary work route.
Different company systems
Mainland private-sector, free-zone and government employment may use different authorities. Ask the employer which system holds the official offer, permit and contract.
Visitor permission is different
A visit or tourist visa does not authorise ordinary employment. Read the Dubai work visa and employment guide before relocating for a role.
