UAE residence visa
A residence visa or permit is the immigration basis for living in the UAE for its stated period and conditions. The sponsor, eligibility basis and renewal rules depend on the route.
It is not one universal product
Residence can be based on employment, family, study, eligible self-sponsored work, long-term Golden categories, virtual work, retirement or another official route. Each has its own evidence and sponsor position.
Connected records
An entry or status step, medical fitness, residence issuance and Emirates ID application can form part of the same process. A work permit serves the employment function. A trade licence serves a business-licensing function. Do not use the labels interchangeably.
