Glossary
Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival describes permission processed at the border for an eligible traveller. It does not mean every passenger can arrive without checking first.
Eligibility travels with the document
Check the passport actually used for travel and any expressly qualifying visa or residence document. Country of departure, country of residence and citizenship should not be treated as synonyms.
Before boarding
- Confirm passport type and validity.
- Check permitted stay and any fee.
- Check remaining validity on a conditional document.
- Carry onward travel or other evidence when required.
- Ask the operating airline about boarding checks.
Border decision
Published eligibility supports planning but does not guarantee admission. Border officials make the individual entry decision under the current rules and record.
