Visa sponsor or host
A sponsor or host is the eligible person or organisation associated with an application route. Depending on the service, this may be an airline, hotel, tourism establishment, employer, resident or family member.
The role is service-specific
GDRFA’s single-entry tourist service says the sponsor/host should be an establishment working in tourism and notes that only accredited tourism offices in Dubai can issue that type. Other visit categories use different sponsor relationships, while the five-year tourist visa is described as not needing a guarantor or UAE host.
Do not assume that anyone living in the UAE can sponsor any visitor. Check the exact service’s sponsor eligibility, evidence and obligations.
Questions for a commercial provider
- Which authority and exact service will be used?
- Who is the legal sponsor/host?
- What booking or itinerary condition applies?
- Which charges are government fees and which are provider fees?
- What official submission reference will be supplied?
