Emirates ID
Emirates ID is the UAE identity card used by citizens and residents. It is not a visitor's passport and its appearance in a form does not mean every traveller should have one.
Where the confusion comes from
UAE identity, residence and immigration services are connected, so an official tracker may ask for an Emirates ID in a workflow aimed at residents or sponsors. A tourist applicant may instead use a different reference or provider route.
Protect the number
An Emirates ID number is sensitive personal information. Enter it only on a verified official service or a provider that is authorised and necessary for the transaction. This site's trackers never ask for it.
Passport remains separate
Visa eligibility for a visitor starts with the travel document used at the border. UAE residence status and Emirates ID can affect the context, but they do not replace the passport.
